Public Service Announcement

I am not being paid for this, nor have I been in contact with any people from any company. I'm doing this of my own volition because I feel this strongly about it.

I want every one of you that has children to watch this. If you don't have the five minutes now, come back later and watch it. Please. If you do nothing else for me, I'm just asking this of you.

And when you're done, here's the link to go buy them. They're sold out online in most places. They also have them at Home Depot and Lowe's.

I recorded the one we have in Charlotte's room. It took me three tries because I kept getting choked up at the thought that one day it might go off. But please please please don't ever let it go off.

"Charlotte!! It's Mommy! Get up! Get Outside!"

And it loops.

"Charlotte!! It's Mommy! Get up! Get Outside!"

"Charlotte!! It's Mommy! Get up! Get Outside!"

I hope she never hears those words.

---

If you think this could help someone you know with kids or you want to help get the word out, help me by linking this post on your blog. Or write an entry of your own. Maybe if we get enough people to get out and buy one, it could save someone's sleeping baby one night to make sure they wake up in time.

Wow. That video scared the hell out of me. I will be purchasing this alarm as soon as Maddie is mobile.

Thanks for the heads-up... I never knew anything about this. Gives me chills. I hope that Charlotte never hears that alarm either.

They also say it's good for infants because they will also sleep through the regular alarm, but this will wake them, and even though they can't get out of their beds and get outside, they sure can scream and cry so someone knows where they are.

We experienced this while on vacation. Thankfully not because of fire, but Mr. B accidentally set his alarm for midnight (the Wife let him play with the alarm clock while she tended to Miss L). It scared the ever living piss out of me, but he never budged, even when I was in his room beating the shit out of the alarm. Needless to say, the voice alarm is on my "to purchase" list.

I shall be getting this. It's one of my biggest fears that there will be a fire and....yeah.....see? I can't even write it without getting all misty eyed.

I have heard of these before.

My Kid can sleep through ANYTHING!! Construction noise upstairs above his head, baby crying and a huge thunder clap that sounded like an explosion. Luckily we are all in the same room right now and could grab him, but once we move upstairs and he is in in his own room we are SO getting one of these.

As a kid whose house caught on fire when I was in it, I can tell you, it is so scary that a calm directing voice would be helpful. A neighbor banging on our door at 5 am was what I got. Thankful, but an alarm would have assisted earlier I think!

I am so going to post about this, especially since this morning I accidentally set Ashley's alarm to buzz instead of playing a princess song, and she started crying because she was so scared.

I just wrote a post for tomorrow and linked this. I also just bought 2 off Ebay. Thank you for the reminder. I had forgotten about these.

That's scary - I passed it along to all the moms I know...but it got me wondering, I might need to purchase it for me & my hubby. He can sleep thru anything.

Again, cant' hear this at work but it's probably just as well. It would probably freak me out.

I need to show this to my husband. Bubba is talking about fire safety at school and he keeps telling us we need to discuss our escape plan.

That's a great product. I need to get one of those. Recently, I was making pizza and the oven was smoking and set off our upstairs hallway alarm like 5 times. It's right outside Ethan's room and he didn't peep. While it's nice he sleeps through household noises, this is one thing I DON'T want him sleeping through. Thanks for the PSA!
