Little boys

Last night was bath night (as an aside, do you guys bathe your kids every day? Unless it's summer or there was dirt involved, we're on an every-other-day routine.), and I try and give the baby "nakkey time" for a bit before his bath.

I figure at some point soon in his life, it will be inappropriate to run around naked so why not do it now when it's okay?

As you would imagine, sometimes this leads to accidents, but nothing ever worth eliminating the few minutes of naked time that brings him such joy.

I was running the tub, sitting on the edge, feeling the water, when I hear "OH NO!" from the kitchen. Now, normally an "oh no" would not send me running but I knew the dogs were in there and I was afraid Luna had peed on the floor again and didn't want Sawyer to run and fall in it. Because that would really only complete my day.

Instead, I walk into the kitchen to find Sawyer standing over the sleeping puppy.

Peeing on her.

Oh, toddler boys. The endless amusement is worth the hell you cause.

That's so awesome. And Lexi gets a bath every other day (or two).

Boys are hilarious. That is all.

That gave me a laugh!

During the Winter, bath is every two nights, but she is wiped down each night with a washcloth. She has hideously dry skin (even WITH lotion!!) and bathing her each night or every other made it worse. Plus, to be honest....bath time is a huge pain in my balls. :)

Maybe it was payback. My kids have never peed on a dog, or our cat for that matter, but they do like to pee on the floor.

We give our kids a bath every other day. Sometimes, even a few more days go by before they get a bath. My kids, they are stinky.

Ha ha ha ha ha.

And re. bath: we were an every-other-night family (2 1/4 year old daughter) until she picked up lice from daycare and now it's every night bath and hair washing plus twice daily combings (yes, she's been lice-free for like 3 months and I still do extra crazy combing).

LOL! Hilarious!!! Poor puppy, though! Did she not wake up?!

Oh no is right! Now the puppy has to have a bath too!

We're an every other night family, especially now that I'm having to give Caroline baths with Clorox in it. :(

Oh no! That's funny!

Also, we bathe about 2x/week. Writing it out seems a little embarrassing, but there you have it. All three of my girls get wicked dry skin in the winter, so bathing less frequently really helps. And as long as we bathe every 3-4 days, they never smell.

The summer is different- being outside more, sunscreen, bug spray, dirt, etc. Often it's everyday in the summer.

I just wanted to say - I feel like we've tried EVERYTHING to get my son to take a bath. It's gotten so difficult to give him one that we instead just haul him into the shower (which is no more fun for him than the bath, but safer since we can actually hold onto his flailing, writing body as we attempt to wash him off). As you might expect, we only do this once a week, and it is usually the worst moment of the week for all of us. One thing we have not tried, because it never occurred to me, is to give him some nekkid baby time to run around before (or even after) a bath. Maybe if he enjoys that enough, he'll consent to a bath in order to get to run around. Worth a try. So - thanks for both the laugh and the idea!

(New reader) Kate :)

PS Hopefully he won't pee on our cat.

We do baths every other night unless she's been at school (where they are less than vigilant about bathroom hygiene) or a large poopy diaper is involved.

Thankfully, we have no pets to pee on.

Now that we're a 2 kid family, we're every other night (for both of them).

The question is, did Luna get a bath after that????

And, I've caught Bear biting our dog on several occassions. Boys are crazy.

I was always amazed at the crap Drew pulled that Meg never thought of. Of course the twins can easily top whatever he did, so I'm basically screwed.

We bathe the kids a couple of times a week, although a bit more often for Meg due to hockey (ewww she stinks). We bathe more in the summer to get off the sunscreen, bug spray and copious amounts of dirt.

Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!

Man, penises are trouble from the get-go, aren't they?!

No, we bathe every other day, or even every third day in Patrick's case. Josie's getting older and will probably soon graduate to every day because of her hair.

SO funny. You write things that make me want to have a boy someday. :)

Maddie gets a bath every other day in the winter; in the summer, it's more like daily since she's outside so much.

We bathe every day. Right after dinner Theo says "Naked Baby!" because he knows it's time to rip his clothes off.

Peeing on the dog made me squeak because that is FUNNY. Especially the "oh no!" part. LOVE BOYS.

There are tears in my eyes, I laughed so hard. Tell Sawyer I needed that.

Peeing on the puppy is priceless. I am glad I don't have to deal with that!

And yep, we happily skip a bath on those days when we get back from drama at nearly 7pm - it's just too late to bother.
